Like Jonathan Goldman, Anugama, and other explorers of music healing, I tend to be very skeptical about assigning musical notes to certain chakras or parts of the body etc. because most of the people who say these things are not coming from direct experience And it gets a little ridiculous when people say that the note C# rules the 2nd chakra and F# is ruled by Sagittarius and so on. Life moves! Life changes!

From deep in the Amazon Forest comes the sound of hymns offered as prayers. A small community in Amazonas, Brazil called Céu do Mapiá, shares their gift to the world: a collection of sacred and channeled songs from Brazil with Raphael’s lush arrangements, these songs transport you into the realm of profound prayer and a merging with the divine.

In this tradition, sacred hymns from the Santo Daime Church are received by individuals from Spirit to help and guide our spiritual growth. “Here Comes The Sun to Heal Us” is a translation of a hymn received in Portuguese by Madrinha Rita Gregório de Melo, the wife of Padrinho Sebastiáo Mota de Melo, founder of the Céu do Mapiá community. The hymns sung in Portuguese were received by their son Padrinho Alfredo Gregório de Melo. The rest of the hymns were received by a member of the church in English.

Proceeds of this album will support the community of Céu do Mapiá.
